These terms apply when you use Expert Marketplace, as a customer looking for help or as an expert offering services. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What we do, and what we do not

We help customers find and contact independent experts, such as plumbers, electricians, lawyers and doctors. Experts are not our employees or agents. The agreement for a job, its price, quality and payment is between the customer and the expert. We are not a party to it, and we do not carry out the work.

Our suggestions of which service fits a problem are generated automatically and can be wrong. Check with the expert before work starts.

Information on the site is not medical, legal or financial advice. In an emergency, call 1122 (rescue and ambulance) or 15 (police), not an expert through this site.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older to use the service.
• You sign in with your own mobile number. Keep access to it secure; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Give accurate information, and keep it up to date.

Bookings

• A booking request goes to the expert, who can accept or decline it. A request that is not answered in time expires.
• Phone numbers and the exact location are shared once the expert accepts. Use them only for that booking.
• Either side can cancel a booking before the work starts. Please cancel as early as you can, and give a reason.
• If something goes wrong with a job, report the problem from the booking page soon after it happens. We review reports, but we cannot guarantee an outcome between customer and expert.
• Payment for the work is agreed and made directly between customer and expert.

For experts

• Your profile, services, prices, photos and availability must be true, and you must hold any licence or registration your work requires.
• “Verified” means our team checked the documents you submitted for your trade at that time. It is not a guarantee of your work, and it ends if your documents expire or turn out to be false.
• Answer booking requests promptly, keep appointments, and treat customers and their property with respect.

Coins and featured profiles

• Experts can buy coins and use them to feature their profile. A featured profile is marked as featured and shown first when people browse a city. It does not change which experts are suggested for a customer’s problem.
• Coins have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, withdrawn or transferred to another account.
• If you were charged for coins that did not reach your balance, contact support and we will put it right.

Reviews and messages

• Only the customer of a completed booking can review it, once. Reviews must be honest and about your own experience.
• No offensive, threatening or discriminatory content, no personal details of others, and no advertising. We may hold, hide or remove reviews and messages that break these rules or look manipulated.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, to harass anyone, to send spam, to impersonate someone else, or to interfere with the site or other people’s use of it. Do not copy or collect data from the site in bulk.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we may remove listings or content. You can close your account at any time through support.

Liability

We work to keep the service available and accurate, but we provide it as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for the work experts do, for what customers and experts agree between themselves, or for losses caused by them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you on the site before it takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
